2013 has been another incredible year for the Open Knowledge Foundation and
we’re looking to do even more in 2014 — when we'll celebrate our tenth
anniversary.

We’ve got a big job to do. *Help us get off to a great start in 2014 by

Some of things we’ve achieved this year

   - *Training more than a 1000 people in person* from Nairobi to Bogota in
   data skills to turn data into insight — plus over 2000 more online through

   - *Providing a home for important and innovative projects* including
   FarmSubsidies (2 <#1430b48de00de9f5_farmsubsidy>) and Product Open Data (

   - *Appointing and supporting more than 30 new local Ambassadors* and
   extending the Open Knowledge Foundation Network to more than 40 countries (

   - *Bringing together thousands of people at our events*, from the Open
   Knowledge Conference to local meetups around the world

   - *Driving for more open data from governments* including working to get
   the G8 to commit to an Open Data Charter and pressing the UK and other
   countries to commit to releasing key information about who controls

   - *Launching the Open Economics Principles *to drive open data in the
   social sciences (7 <#1430b48de00de9f5_openecon>)
   - *Enabling the open release of tens of thousands of datasets*, from
   Nigeria’s Edo State to data.gov, using CKAN (8 <#1430b48de00de9f5_ckan>),
   the open source data platform we created

In 2014 we’re celebrating ten years of the Open Knowledge Foundation — a
worldwide network of people passionate about openness using advocacy,
technology and training to unlock information and enable people to work
with it to create and share knowledge.

sustaining and expanding our work — from campaigning to open up essential
information to training journalists, activists and citizens to use data for
good.
