Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Hereby my meeting minutes on the Open Tourism @ Open Belgium which will be organised in Namur.

Open Tourism: How to use Semantic Markup to Open Up your Data and Boost your SEO

Most webmasters are familiar with HTML tags on their pages. Usually, HTML tags tell the browser how to display the information included in the tag. Schema.org provides a collection of shared vocabularies webmasters can use to mark up their pages in ways that can be understood by the major search engines: Google, Microsoft and Yahoo! In this session international & local experts will explain how you can open-up ad promote your tourism related data & initiatives.

1.      Getting Started - schema.org & Tourism Data - international speaker [check @danbri --> @pietercolpaert]

2. Best practices in Belgium [check at Stadgent --> @rafke // other examples // ...)

3.      Roadmap & Open Tourism working group (@rafke / @laurens_d_v / ...)

Any suggestions/thoughts welcome.

Cheers,

@rafke
