Interesting! I'm wondering what exactly will be centralized (e.g., only 
the management of the URIs or the entire database?) and what lead to 
this decision...

In Flanders, CRAB has been open data for a while now, and GRB will 
become open data in January 2016. Maybe this is a first step to Linked 
Open Data?
