16th IACC in Tunisia is Postponed
Berlin, 30 July 2014

To all our constituents, friends and supporters,

We regret to inform you that the 16th IACC, due to take place from the
21st-24th October this year in Tunis, has had to be postponed.

Tunisia will hold its first free parliamentary elections on 26 October
2014, with the Presidential elections following in November and December.
The timing of these elections was not fixed when the Tunisian government
agreed to host the IACC. Due to the elections' proximity to the Conference,
the government has requested a postponement in light of the increased
burden on the security services during the election period.

The International Anti-Corruption Conference Council met on Friday 25 July
to discuss the situation and accepted the proposal of the Tunisian
government to postpone the conference for security reasons. New dates,
which will not be in 2014, and new venue if so needed will be announced as
soon as possible.

Please know that the work towards finalising the Conference Programme
continues. The selection process for IACC sessions is well underway.
Sessions are still being considered despite the change of IACC dates.
Please be assured that you will be informed as soon as a concrete decision
has been made.
