[okfn-discuss] OKD/freedomdefined common ground/convergence?

dear Rufus and Mako, all,

I'm planning on producing a short zine/pamphlet/tract to thrust at
OSCON attendees, about open access to geodata in the context of open
source software ethos - like the pamphlets that Saul, Schuyler and I
were making through the University of Openess last year - brushing off
1 or 2 or my old essays - maybe rip and mix a bit of Rufus' recent
IPPR paper - recommendations for other short CC licensed pieces also
appreciated.

I wanted to include as part of this, the free content / open knowledge
take on the Free Software Definition. Which is currently represented
by http://freedomdefined.org/Definition and
http://okfn.org/okd/definition.html#id1080990572 . I would be inclined
just to take the '11 theses' from the latter. I know there's been some
talk of converging the two. I was wondering where that discussion had
got to - am i jumping the gun?

'open' and 'free' are all the same to me :)

cheers,

jo
