I've heard SECRECY by Rob Moss and Peter Gallison is a great film. May be a WIP, but it comes highly recommended.

A big +1 to Becky and David's suggestions of "Us Now" - really great film re: community-sourced collaborative projects.

Also, "Rip It: A Remix Manifesto"[1] is at least tangentially related (focused on copyright laws around mashup medias, and existing public campaigns for the open redistribution of cultural archives) and is available online for free. In a similar vein, "Steal This Film" is a (quite biased, yet still interesting) discussion about the "battles between old and new forms of distribution" and re-use, especially in the case of the Pirate Bay [2].

Lastly, a shorter film making a case for "Open Data in Transit" by some folks from OpenPlans in the US [3].

Hope this helps!

Hi,
I'm a member of the Stockholm Cinema Politica group (http://www.cinemapolitica.org/stockholm) - we organize free screenings of independent political films to the student body of Stockholm University, as well as the greater Stockholm community.
For an upcoming screening we'd like to show a documentary about "Open (transparent) Government", or "Open Data" in general, but we haven't been able to find anything yet.

Can anyone recommend any documentaries that address these topics?

Thanks in advance,
Alex

I don't recall Kirby Ferguson's most excellent "Everything Is a Remix" mentioned.

http://www.everythingisaremix.info/watch-the-series/

Did I say it was most excellent? Well, it is.
