That’s great Tim - looking forward to chatting with you and others later
today!

One of the suggestions made in the last session was around putting together

This could definitely be very useful.

I should say there that, whilst not based on a very formal schedule, there
has been quite of ongoing consultation over the last 18m. For example, last
year we updated and formalized our “values” and vision which was shared at
several points and publicly posted on the site (though I imagine we’ve
word-smithed a bit since).

We also shared the strategy for “Central” at several stages of its
development - I emphasize “Central” here as we know that individual Local
Groups have their own plans and ideas and we don’t have - and don’t plan to
- have some centralized decision-making around what each local group (or
working group) does.

There have also been several areas of development in governance over the
last 18m. For example, we started the international council last year and
it is continuing to develop (I think one thing that could be done better is
improved documentation of these processes whether on the wiki or okfn.org).

That said, and I think this is what you are alluding to (though please
correct if wrong) here is that given growth in the community there is a
need to reflect again on the vision, values and governance that would
provide a common touch-point for the entire community and that this could
be a good opportunity to revisit some of these again.

Is that something that is under development and that might exist by the

I don’t believe anyone has yet taken this on but it would be great to see
this happen (and e.g. planning something at or around Open Knowledge
Festival in July might be a really good idea). Should we boot a doc or wiki
page on this?
