[okfn-discuss] Ideas for eGovernment initiatives?

Hi all

In Denmark we're discussing the follow up for the official eGovernment 
strategy. The previous strategy had a rather narrow focus: to make the 
public sector more cost-efficient using digitalization. We are trying to 
collect input to propose for the new strategy. Do you know of succesful 
government initiatives in the field of digitalization/ITC that you could 
recommend?

We wish for a broader perspective that aims not only at saving money by 
digitalization of existing services but also aims at creating a better 
society: more open, transparent, taking civil society into account, 
stronger democracy, empowering citizens, cross-border/international 
cooperation, tackling the great challenges facing us...What we're 
looking for is reasonable ideas for realistic initiatives, these could 
be related to open government/data/access/education/transport/aid, 
open-whatever, citizens empowering etc.
