before i stand here as someone preferring moderation and censorship over
education, no i do not think that moderation is the way to go, look at (y)our
society stupid people cherish censorship (look at the response to charlie
hebdo) - no i think okfn is about open knowledge and not about censorship or
moderation. part of that should be not only the education of the wider public,
but also the contributors on the mailinglists. i presume the okfn still has a
sizeable budget, of which it pays community mgrs, i hope none of them think
censorship is a solution but instead education. please mgrs take up your
responsibility and help those who are overwhelmed by technology. seriously my
style is not the most patient with these, i'm not convinced i'd be the best to
educate them, some more diplomatic and softer approach like the one showcased
in your fine response would be much better.
