[okfn-discuss] The owners of censorship: a report on Venezuelan media

Dear everyone:
IPYS, our Poderopedia`s partners in Venezuela, are launching today a
investigation about the new owners of Media in Venezuela and their
censorship practices. In the past five years, 25 media companies have
changed owners in Venezuela under strong suspicion of Government
involvement in the process.
Who are the new owners of these media organizations, the opacity
surrounding the new business formation and its implications in the
treatment of the information disseminated through these media are the
themes developed in the research entitled "The owners of censorship in
Venezuela". In www.poderopedia.com/ve you can find under the
#PropietariosDeLaCensura label, some of the profiles of the new owners of
the major media organizations in Venezuela that were sold and bought under
an atmosphere of opacity.
