Recent mediatic events have shed a crude light on corruption. According to
TI, it is an attack on good governance, the legal system and human rights,
resulting into a waste of public resources, failure of regulations and
distorted competition.
The well-known "Corruption Perception Index" disclosed by TI ranks France
in the 22nd position, at the same level than the Bahamas and Santa Lucia !
Daniel Lebègue will unveil the causes of this situation within an
international perspective, explain the impacts and present possible
remedies. He will also give us the latest updates on the international
efforts currently undertaken by the OECD, the European Commission, the G8
and the G20 to fight corruption. An eye-opener, Daniel Lebègue will help us
better understand and fight the threats posed by corruption to the core
values of our free world.
*Daniel Lebègue, Sciences-Po, ENA, has been Director of the Treasury at the
French Ministry of Economy and Finance, then Chief Executive Officer of the
Banque Nationale de Paris, of which he became later Vice chairman.
Subsequently, he became Chief Executive Officer of the "Caisse des Dépots
et Consignations".
Today, Daniel Lebègue is Chairman of the Board of the French section of
Transparency International, Chairman of the Board of the "Institut du
Développement Durable et des Relations Internationales", Chairman of the
Board of “Epargne sans frontières” and Chairman of the Board of the
"Observatoire sur la Responsabilité Sociétale des Entreprises" (ORSE). He
also heads the "Institut Français des Administrateurs" (IFA), a French
professionnal association of Board Directors. And he is non executive
director of Scor and Chairman of the audit committee.
