[okfn-help] CKAN + register of open gov data in Canada?

Happy New Year David!

Just to add to Rufus's comments, my feeling is that the best way
forward in the immediate future is to start to enter datasets on CKAN
as part of a Canadian open government data 'group'
(http://ckan.net/group/). We can use this to test out the 'extras'
fields and to see where we are up to and how this will work in the
future. This will be the core of any Canadian open government registry
- and we will be able to migrate the 'package' data to any other
system or instance (e.g. pulling from ckan.net to another front
end/interface).

Once we've done this, then we could do a 'light' launch to get input
from various relevant parties about what else is needed, and e.g. to
add any other relevant packages.

What do you think?

Best wishes,

Jonathan
