Back:

ps aux | grep etherpad
# kill the etherpad process
/etc/init.d/etherpad start
/etc/init.d/apache2 restart

But I would note this isn't the first time the etherpad has gone down.
It seems that it occasionally falls over or gets blocked.

@Friedrich: are there any logs to read we could look at?
