Hi,
Ministry of Public Administration and Justice is responsible for the Companies' Registry. It was outsourced to Opten (www.cegtar.hu). They have gained a monopoly for a supposedly reduced digitization fee. The previous gov. ordered to open it up. So you can access basic services behind a captcha wall. Those companies that had sufficient resources employed administrators to retrieve the whole database. Now there is a competition on this market and citizens can access basic information for free. However this database offers only non-authorized information. This is a huge achievement compared to the first 15 years of freedom in Hungary.

No stakeholder is really interested in providing data for easy access or statistical analysis.
best
