Dear members of the OKF-Labs,

I discovered the OKF and the OKF-Labs some weeks ago and since then i am
thinking on the possibility on contributing by developing an open source
framework for storing geolocated data, the idea would be basically a
project composed by following elements:

- Backend for storing data in a database, the stored data would be
something like POIs with some metadata assigned ( Title, description, tags,
gps-coords...). I thought using PHP, some framework like Symphony....

- Easy-to-use RESTFull API to upload and retrieve the data. Define basic
set of methods.

- Source code for the upload and retrieval of data on the most common
languages and platforms ( Javascript, OSX/iOS, java/Android)

- The framework should be generic so anyone could use it as a starting
point and be able to setup really quick and be able to start uploading data
asap, then develop client apps that will display the data.

Te reason i am writing to you is that i would like to ask if you guys know
if there is something like that are implemented so i do not try to reinvent
the wheel.

Thanks in advance for the time,

regards,

Alex Corbi.
