I'm also curious what you guys think about using something like the Open
Civic Data identifiers to identify the jurisdictions of public bodies -
https://github.com/opencivicdata/ocd-division-ids

I've started to incorporate the OCD IDs into the DemocracyMap API (though
just limited to the United States for now) - http://api.democracymap.org
