We had some conversations lately about Portable Linked Profiles
experiment with contributions and early adoptions from
http://directory.open-steps.org/

It proposes technical solution for avoiding duplicating your profile
information among many locations. I think many people would like their
info to appear in:

* http://okfnlabs.org/members/
* http://codefor.de/berlin/index.html
* http://www.codeforamerica.org/brigade/
* http://directory.open-steps.org/
* etc.

Besides profile of a person we also start profiles for events (anyone
noticed meetup.com/everywhere gone?), organizations, projects, places,
and later assets (spaces, equipment etc.)
