[okfn-labs] Suggestions for a new website

Hi Alex,
very nice initiative. You could go several places from where you are now,
let me describe what would be useful to me personally: I often develop data
apps that cover many countries, and it would be attractive for me to pull
in basic economic info to augment the tool (e.g. http://doubleoffshore.org/
- country pop-ups). For this, I've played with scraped version of the CIA
Factbook, but most of them are somewhat messy.
If, instead, I could just include http://econfactbook.org/data/NG.json (or
even http://econfactbook.org/data/2013/NG.json), that would be really
helpful. A few things would have to be given, though: I'd need to know your
service will still be around in a year (so, ideally, it would be based on
flat files). I'd also like to know the source of your information included
in the JSON, when it was last refreshed and when you last checked for an
update at the source.
Also, I'd namespace the countries to /countries, perhaps later you will
want to add /currencies, /exchanges, .... ?
What do you think?
Cheers,
- Friedrich
