Hey everyone,

I just thought to introduce myself for those who do not know me yet.

My name is Kersti and I have just joined the OKF as the new Dutch OKFN
local ambassador. I am certainly excited to become part of this vibrant
local as much as global community and to collaborate with all of you!

I am actually German but I am living in the Netherlands since 6.5 years. My
background is in ICT4D and Development Communication. With a strong passion
for access to information and free expression I have worked as a strategist
and coordinator of related cross-media campaigns in various countries over
the last years. I am also writing my PhD as an external PhD student of the
University of Amsterdam, researching on the intersection of digital media,
activism and trans-national communities.

Currently, I am mainly engaged with the open development/open aid community
in the Netherlands. However, I I am a strong advocate of cross-disciplinary
approaches in my work and beyond. I would love to connect the different
domains within the NL community and create some vibrant synergies, serving
as a great example to the bigger community.

In those regards I already had a fruitful brainstorming session with Joris
Pekel, whom you all know. We thought it would be great to organize another
Open Data Meetup to bring together people from different domains and
todiscuss a potential bigger event with you.

I will be there and I am very much looking forward to meet you in person!

Warmest wishes,
Kersti
