Job Description
The IDN Project Manager will assist the IDN Program Senior Manager
in the planning and implementation of IDN TLD projects to facilitate
the introduction and maintenance of IDN TLDs in the DNS Root Zone.
Duties include executing multiple projects under the IDN TLD
program, administering IDN program support tasks and undertaking
project related communications.

* Execute multiple current projects under the IDN Program,
including Label Generation Ruleset for the Root Zone, IDN ccTLD
Fast Track Process, IDN Implementation Guidelines, IDN Language
Table Repository, IDN Variant TLD Implementation, Label
Generation Ruleset Tool development and others.
* Plan and execute an effective communication plan for the IDN
Program and other assigned projects
* Develop and track project budgets and plans.
* Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations related to
the IDN Program for internal and external audiences.
* Present at informational sessions regarding the status of the
IDN Program and its projects.
* Serve as a subject matter expert and recommend best practices
for IDN Projects.
* Maintain web content for the IDN Program, including internal and
community wiki pages.
* Organize and support online and face to face meetings organized
by the IDN Program for its projects.
* Manage the contracting and invoicing processes for all
consultants and vendors working on different projects in the IDN
Program.
* Other duties as assigned or requested.
Required Skills
* Broad knowledge of:
o Internet Infrastructure, Doman Name System (DNS),
Linguistics and writing systems
* Specialized knowledge and experience in:
o Internet Protocols, including those relevant to IDNs
o Unicode Standard
o IDN related work being undertaken by ICANN and the community
* Excellent skills in:
o Technical report writing
o Communicating difficult and sensitive information
effectively in culturally diverse settings
* Experience in:
o Relevant technical areas (including linguistics)
o Working in an international environment
o Project Management and Communication
* Other:
o Fluency in another language and script, in addition to
English and Latin, is strongly preferred
Required Experience
* College degree in Computer science or other relevant technical
field with preference for an advanced college degree
* At least 8 years experience
* Specialized training in relevant cross-disciplinary areas, e.g.
linguistics, communications, etc.
