Hello again everyone,
Ok I just got a note from Nordic Innovation, with some information from
them about the event, including some questions they'd like to have looked
into.
I'll post the notes below, and would kindly ask for your insights and
reflections on the matters.
( Yes, yes I get a bit pushed away by the business speak, and feel like
running away at the sound of it, but hopefully there's a way of clarifying,
in Copenhagen, that it all starts with a proper open culture, and that
business can be built on top of it, rather than the other way around :) .
So here;s the note from Nordic Innovation :
------------------------
Nordic Open Data meeting 2015
THE DAY
Open Data is by many been described as the new oil, a new economic super
driver and a future x-factor. But where does the Nordic region stand in
this development? How do we build a future where open data is utilized to
create innovative digital solutions, new jobs and economic growth while
also involving, educating and democratizing our societies What is the
digital value chain?
Is there a Nordic model to be found?
THE WHO
Attending are around 20 Nordic Open Data agenda-setters from innovations
agencies, the Open Knowledge Foundation, digitalization authorities and
Nordic hackathon organizers.
Nordic Innovation is hosting the meeting. To moderate the day we have
teamed up with Joakim Jardenberg, a Swedish tech evangelist, who also
carries the grandiose title of Head of Internet at Helsingborg City.
THE PREPARATION
We will not ask you to prepare much in advance for the workshop, however it
would be great if you could give some thought to the following areas:
1) Country presentations: An overview of what’s going on in your market
with regards to open data (access to, use of, ease of use, type of data
sets, stakeholders) and digital events (hacks, data cook-offs, maker
sessions, stakeholders). Good examples of open data use; success stories.
2) What does the ‘digital value chain’ look like in your market – how does
it go from open data to ideas (or from ideas to open data) to creation of
new and innovative digital solutions? How are these pushed to the market;
creating jobs; creating value for the society (and what kind of value à
social, economic, environmental)? What happens after a digital event; where
do the apps/solutions go from there (i.e. is someone actually making a
living of it after)?
3) The Nordic opportunity: How can we work together in the Nordics to
support the development of innovative digital solutions that can benefit
the whole region à create a strong Nordic digital value chain?
THE DISCUSSIONS
Building a Nordic open data community
Input to a Nordic open data value chain & roadmap
Overview over planned events for 2016 and coordinating initiatives
(including
Nordic Open Data Week 2016)
Establishing a Nordic open data group (national evangelists, drivers...)
