Completely orthogonal suggestion (sorry I haven't been able to take part in discussions - busy with patchy internet at moment)

Network Ready Research

Emphasises the application and the why (exploiting network effects and positive feedback, low friction sharing etc etc) rather than the how. Admittedly it doesn't have the brand recognition (for good and ill) of Open Access but it captures for me the rationale behind _why_ we want things to be done right.
