[Open-access] Open Access Initiative - meeting notes, names and moving forwards

Hi,

I have added some thoughts that Bart and I shared about the organisation of
the malaria community under the new @ccess.org site .
I have put this in the wiki like the lists of links already mentioned in my
previous mail.
For your convenience I have copied the text in this mail.:

* provide a portal to Open Access related information

** build and host communities of scientists and other citizens sharing
information

In the case of Malaria we already have a network community called
MalariaWorld and hosted at www.malariaworld.org.

My suggestion would be to link to this malaria community on the @ccess
site, and to provide access to the ORR and the user repository (papers
uploaded by malariaworld members) both from @ccess and on the Malariaworld
site.

People who want to register for the malaria community on the @ccess site
will be forwarded to MalariaWorld where they are asked to register.
MalariaWorld users should also be able to access the @ccess site directly
form the Malariaworld site. And logging in on the @ccess site as a
registered member of the @ccess-Malaria community should provide direct
access to the Malariaworld site.

Other communities under @ccess could also remain hosted on their existing
sites.

With reagards to the publication of the malaria index we (at Dutch Malaria
Foundation) think that this should also be a mirrored on both the
@ccess.orgsite and on MalariaWorld.org.

I am not sure how easy these things will be to implement, but as far as I
know it is doable.
