[Open-access] Publishing and depositing a PhD thesis

It’s not the first time that students or colleagues come to me with this question: how can we find a list of publishers which accept to publish your (edited) PhD while allowing that the original document (non edited) be deposited in an open publication repository? … of course without making you pay 5000 €.
