As discussed it would be great if the ADS could add their support on the letter (I understand why this might be a problem). Also thanks for providing contacts for JISC and other organisations you think we should invite.

I think holding a workshop within the ADS sends out a good message to the community (so thanks). I'm not sure if we can get something  sorted by Easter. We have yet to formally approach HLF on this topic and if we extend the net then there will be further inertia. However.... never say never.

Just an update on our situation regarding potential of organising a workshop to discus open data licensing issues.

We certainly do want to be involved in discussions and are perfectly happy to contribute our time and perspective to the workshop.

We can also offer space at Kings Manor free of charge to conduct the workshop. The best time for room bookings is during uni holidays, so if you want to move forward quickly a day between the 25th March and 5th April would be best. If you want to consider numbers and timings and get back to me on that.

We would also recommend considering inviting a representative of JISC legal.
