This is a reminder for the CIG Scotland seminar on ISBD and the Semantic Web,
presented by IFLA's ISBD/XML Study Group; a few places are still available.

14:00 - Welcome and introduction (Graeme Forbes, Chair of CIGS)
14:10 - International Standard Bibliographic Description: background and recent
developments (Elena Escolano Rodríguez, Chair of the ISBD Review Group)
14:40 - The ISBD/XML Study Group: background, activities, plans (Mirna Willer,
Chair of the ISBD/XML Study Group)
15:10 - ISBD for the Semantic Web: namespaces, elements, vocabularies,
application profile (Gordon Dunsire, Consultant to the Study Group and Review
Group liaison
with Semantic Web communities)
15:30 - Getting triples from records: the role of ISBD with practical examples
and demonstrations (Gordon Dunsire)
15:50 - Discussion on general and specific issues
16:00 - Close
The seminar has been arranged by CIG Scotland in association with the National
Library of Scotland and the IFLA ISBD/XML Study Group.
The seminar is free but please register your intention to attend by emailing
