   _MESSAGE FROM KARIN_

This newsletter marks [2]International Right To Know Day, the day dedicated
to raising awareness of every individual's right to government-held
information. We wanted to launch an [3]exciting new way to explore aid
information, so we have been working with [4]DFID and [5]Open Knowledge
F[6]oudation to link UK aid spending to [7]WhereDoesMyMoneyGo. Do [8]take a
look and see how aid money is being used, and how aid information can be
made accessible and meaningful to the public. The aim is to continue to
develop this approach so your thoughts and feedback would be greatly
appreciated. Please send any suggestions to info at publishwhatyoufund.org.

At the _MDG Summit_ there were a number of key statements from donors around
the importance of measuring impact and improving the results of aid.
However, a common standard for aid information could play a key role in
accelerated efforts to meet the MDGs and in realising President Obama's
[9]new Global Development Policy. Reforms must increase the comparability of
U.S. aid information with other donor countries to allow for benchmarking
performance and coordinating and pooling resources.
