Hi Claudia,
We'll definitely talk about the point you brought up - I think it's one of the key issues to ensure that we have participants also outside the 'global North'.
Best, Mika

Hi all!
Excellent - very happy to see this.
I will not be able to be part of the skype call tomorrow, but am very interested to help with further planning and preparations for Helsinki.
One issue that you may be able to take up tomorrow is, if and how we can help participants from Africa, Asia and Latin America to be at the event.
Best wishes
Claudia

Hi all,
I'm currently participating to a OKF meeting in Helsinki and the themes and topic streams were just announced (see below). Open development has been approved as one of the topic streams, yippee ;) and belongs to a guiding theme called "Open development and economics" (economics does not seem to have its own stream though). The official version will be published tomorrow via etherpad (with more info). Let's talk more about this on Friday (and whenever on this list).
Cheers, Mika

Subject: RE: Skype meeting
Hi all,
According to the Doodle votes (http://t.co/cu4y66Hq), this week Friday 11-12 GMT works the best for most participants. Unfortunately there isn't any time that would suit for everyone, but I'm sure we'll have a few more Skype sessions when planning the dev. stream. Let's also use the etherpad (http://okfnpad.org/jW3lnOiStZ) to summarize the discussion for everyone.
Add mika.valitalo.flno to your Skype contacts before the call so that I can pick everyone up for the session.
Talk to you soon,
Mika

Subject: Skype meeting
Dear Mika and others
I think a skype meeting for those interested in the preparation is a good idea.
Have there been any responses to the skype meeting today, that you suggested, apart from Tim?
Maybe we can directly contact the people on the etherpad to agree time and date?
Thanks
Claudia
