Dear all
Thanks for all the efforts people make for an exciting event in Helsinki!
There have not been updates to the OKFest Ether pad since the conference call on the 16th of Mai and I am wondering what the status is.
My understanding is that there are a couple of important decisions to be taken soon (overall theme, speaker) - are there some news on this?
NGO outreach: I am very interested to help with an outreach event on IATI and open development for NGOs in the region. I met Taina Hanhikoshky from the Kehys NGO network from Finnland last week, a representative from the Estonian NGO platfrom and from the Eastern European NGO Network Trialog. Particularly Taina seemed very interested. Who else is interested in organising such an outreach event? Mika? Others?
Hackday - sector specific?: There is a proposal for a hackday and a sector specific event. Are people interested in a sector specific event? I could imagine that the Action for Global Health network or the Landcoalition may be interesting partners in this respect. What do other people think? What are the plans for the hackday so far?
"Family meeting": Some time ago Tim and I discussed that it would be good to have a more internal meeting in Helsinki with people in this community on what we understand by open development and how we can work together in a better way. Is there some appetite for this? Maybe even a nice evening event? Or to have such a discussion during the visit of the Plan offices?
Involvement of OpenAidPartnership / MFA: At the IATI TAG meeting in Cockham Sören Gigler from the Worldbank suggested a stronger involvement of the OpenAidPartnership in the Helsinki event - also as possible funder. Other members of the OpenAidPartnership are Sweden and Estonia (?). The Finnish MFA should be approached as a possible partner and funder as well. They published to IATI and could benefit from publicity and hackers using their data. What do other people feel about that? Who has contacts with the Finnish MFA?
Sorry if these remarks are totally off the mark - and apologies for not being able to attend the conference call and be better informed.
Happy to hear from you.

Supporting attendance for participants (non EU/US): possible contact for bursary for participants from Asia: Jeurgen Neumann ( http://www.junes.eu<http://www.junes.eu/>, j.neumann[at]junes[dot]eu) has a contact Sylvia Cadena - ISIF Project Officer at APNIC - http://isif.asia/ that he'd be happy to send info to, for funding delegates from Asia.
