Dear all,

Just a heads up that the Stanford Literary Lab have published Moretti
and Pestre's text analysis, or "distant reading", of 50 years of world
bank reports.

Personally, I find this sort of reading "through the computer"* very
interesting, and is something I'd love to do with the whole english
language corpus of economic theory. But it's a big task just to assemble
the texts, never mind digitally interrogate them. Smaller bodies at a
time would be more plausible and practical; if anyone in this group are
interested, or have ideas for similar investigations, I'd be most
interested to hear them.

(*although there is nothing on method and technique in the pamphlet)

Best,

John
