Hello Thomas.
Thanks for joining the community and also for sharing your project. It is
super interesting, indeed.
However, there are two projects of which I'd like to talk to you.
First, the OK Core Datasets: http://data.okfn.org/roadmap/core-datasets This
sub-project of the Frictionless Data project focus on creating core data
sets and making them available according to the open standards previously
created by the same organization (http://opendatahandbook.org/guide/en/).
If you wish to learn more about that project, please let me know.
Secondly, we have a project very similar to yours. It is called the Econ
Factbook (http://econfactbook.org/) The project is not ours, from the
group, but rather from a member of the group, Alex Peek.
Why is this relevant? Well, first, it may make sense that, if you want to
collaborate with us, we should use the same principles and standards. If
you can/want to publish data according to the standards we use here, then I
can definitely help you. If you choose to go some way different, than I am
not sure at what extent I can help you. Secondly, perhaps merging projects
would be interesting. It seems you an Alex share the same vision for the
central database for all of this data, so it may make sense if you two
meet. After dfiscussing the scope of the project, we can potentially start
working in other items.
Also, if you wish to know more about the Open Knowldge organiation, feel
free to visit the official website and also to drop by our forums (
https://discuss.okfn.org). If you prefer, you can chat with us at
https://gitter.im/okfn/chat.
Thanks for posting your message.
