We're really pleased to announce a new Open Education Around the World
post - Open Education Japan
<http://education.okfn.org/open-education-japan/>.

This is our first post from Asia and has been written by *Tomohiro
Nagashima*, a Project Specialist and Instructional Designer at the
Center for Open Education, Hokkaido University. Tomohiro talks about a
number of open education initiatives including the *Academic Commons for
Education (ACE) project* which deals with scarcity of professors in
different disciplines; *schoo, inc* which focuses on supporting
life-long learning using quality video lectures; and *eboard* which
challenges unresolved issues (such as economic and social problems) in
elementary and secondary schools in Japan by offering free quality
videos in various subjects.

Enjoy! http://education.okfn.org/open-education-japan/

you'd like to see your country represented then just send over an email!

Thanks

Marieke
