Dear everyone,

We've been informed by our Community team that Subhajit Ganguly, one of
our two Open Knowledge Indian ambassadors has suddenly and tragically
passed away. His relatives have informed us that following a short
period of illness he passed away in the hospital yesterday morning.

This is quite a shock since he was so young and energetic. Subhajit was
a real powerhouse in the community in the Asian region, and most
recently he was the main driving force behind India Open Data Summit. He
was also a huge advocate of Open Education in India and wrote a blog
post for us about it <http://education.okfn.org/open-education-india/>.

Our Community team will be commemorating Subhajit and all his great work
in a blog post, and if anyone of you would like to contribute to that or
have other ideas for how we can support his family and acknowledge
Subhajit's work and memory they can get directly in touch with Christan
Villum <mailto:christian.villum at okfn.org>.

Thanks

Marieke
