[Open-education] Use of Open Data in Italian secondary schools

Dear OER fellows

Our friend Chiara Ciociola (@chiaracio<https://twitter.com/chiaracio>) from A Scuola di Open Coesione (@ascuoladioc<https://twitter.com/ascuoladioc>) has written a post for Open Education Europe (@OpenEduEU<https://twitter.com/OpenEduEU>) showcasing their practices in promoting the use of open data in secondary schools in Italy, towards developing civic engagement using data journalism techniques and supporting teachers and students in developing data and communication literacies.

A Scuola of Open Coesione has developed an open pedagogical methodology using blended teaching and learning methods which can be understood as a learning pathway focused in developing a participatory learning process engaging students, teachers and schools with their communities and local problems, aiming at promoting students' social participation as active citizens, capable to understand data and policy making processes and to communicate their findings with different stakeholders
