Just so -- the fact that not only the images but also their metadata was
released under CC0, is highly important.
It allowed us to add it to Wikidata, which offers new and exciting
opportunities of discoverability, while ensuring easy dissemination, reuse
and remix throughout Wikimedia projects, and also across different
languages, as Wikidata is multi-lingual (unlike Wikipedia, where each
language has its own site).
This is a big step forward toward helping people across the world find and
use this wonderful collection.
Kudos again to all those involved and hope to see many more institutions
opening up their collections in the coming years.
Shani.
