Hi Marco and all,
Although it's already on the wmflabs list, here's a +1 in case it's
useful in regard to reliability, credibility, and degree of fit with
many public-facing image resources from art museums: the Union List of
Artist Names (ULAN) from the Getty is generally the canonical resource
in such museums for creator data, and as you may know it's available as
Linked Open Data. There's more on ULAN and other Getty resources as LOD at:
https://www.getty.edu/research/tools/vocabularies/lod/
It may be useful to consider folding ULAN into your mix.
