[OpenGLAM] Call for reliable sources for biographical data

Hi Marco

Most of the digital.nls.uk resources will have OCR transcriptions associated with them. The Library licenses OCR transcriptions as CC-BY. I could supply an XML file that contains the OCR for each of the titles/volumes. Let me know.

Best wishes
Gill

(Removing other lists from CC, as open glam seems the most relevant one)

Thanks a lot Gill and Kristian for the pointers.
I should have been more specific in my request, as I am actually looking for biographies **written in English** and available as **parsable raw text** (embedded in whatever format).
Hence, @Gill, are the resources from digital.nls.uk<http://digital.nls.uk> available in a format other than a book?
And @Kristian, are the biographies from Weilbachs Kunstnerleksikon also available in English?

Thanks again to everyone!
Cheers,

Marco

The page is in a mix of English and Danish, sadly, but I believe you can work out the basics regardless.

Hi everyone,

The StrepHit IEG project [1] is currently in the phase of curating a list of reliable sources containing biographical data.

The mix'n'match tool [2] already maintains a list.

Can anyone involved in GLAM projects please suggest any more reliable sources?

Thanks for getting in touch with me!

Cheers,

Marco
