Hi. At the Intendencia de Montevideo decided, beginning 2010, to embrace the
open data principles, as it is stated in the already mentioned 640/10
resolution (approved on February 22th), and following international trends
on open data . Even when, through its website, the Intendencia have, for
many years, published its public data in machine-readable formats, we
decided to explicitly follow the eight data principles. In August 2010,
during the JIAP
conference<http://www.asiap.org/jiap/JIAP2010/PDF/SalaAzul/1308%20-%201100-IMM-SA.pdf>
we
presented the open data policies, and in last December we have just released
http://data.montevideo.gub.uy, where (as of Dec 29) 28 sets of data can be
downloaded, including from city addresses to bus timetables, and where we
plan to keep on publishing Montevideo's every public data as open data. We
also plan to encourage developers to use these data, and people to ask for
them.
Best regards, and Happy New Year
