[open-government] "The Government of Catalonia's Open Data Project is already a reality"

at Open Rights we are looking at the amendments to FoI to include "right to
data" announced by the Coalition government last week. We would be very
interested in any materials you may have and hopefully working together on
trying to help steer this on the right direction. Maybe after the camp we
can have some UK policy discussions about this and other potential
campaigning issues.

We are also starting to look at the privacy implications of proactive mass
disclosure of government data. We have very divergent opinions in our
advisory council, from strict interpretations of the EU DP precluding most
releases of data to others looking at post-release restrictions through
anti-discrimination clauses.

The two things where there seems to be agreement are the technical
impossibility to "anonymise" personal data, and that some problems will
undoubtably appear and we should be prepared.
