* The city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada has its pilot public data
catalogue online

http://calgaryonlinestore.com/publicdata.asp

* The city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada launched an applications contest
on September 29th. It's open to residents of the province of Ontario
aged 18 or older. It runs until January 3, 2011. While the use of
Ottawa city datasets is encouraged, it is not required; the submitted
application must of course be relevant to the city and its residents.

Rules are available at

http://ottawa.ca/online_services/opendata/contest_rules_en.html

The contest site itself is

http://www.apps4ottawa.ca/

but at the moment there are some problems with the site hosting, so it
isn't live yet.
