We had a video production team on site shooting interviews with people
- mainly speakers at the Open Government Data Camp [1]. We packed as
many interviews as we could into the limited time we had.

There were a bunch of other people with video cameras who came down to
shoot footage, including Andrew Mackenzie (in cc) who has told me he
will upload his footage soon.

No. This was mainly my initiative. I mostly wanted to take the
opportunity to get video interview footage with people who were
travelling from afar - as otherwise making such a film could involve
lots of travelling around!

I would have liked to have done a rough cut, then solicited for
feedback, then produced further versions based on feedback. But the
editor only had a short window to do this - and is now off doing loads
of other stuff for National Geographic, etc. I wish there were more
hours in the day!

We'll aim to upload raw footage soon, and - as this will be openly
licensed - other can produce their own cuts/versions of the film from
this. I will endeavour to make it clearer next time that people are
very warmly welcomed to bring their own film cameras to get footage
from events like this. It would be great to have a 'media team' next
time!

Incidentally - we'd *love* to hear from anyone who is able/willing to
edit films. I edited something on our public domain work last year [2]
but don't have any editing experience. (Any tips on free/open source
editing apps would also be much appreciated!)

No it was not.

There was no script - it is cut from interviews with participants. We
scoured the footage, categorising into types, and then turned this
into a broad narrative (what, why, examples, how, conclusion).

Indeed! This is definitely more like a pro- open government data
promotional film by a small NGO who cares about this area, rather than
- e.g. - an impartial documentary film about open government data. It
aims to explain what open government data is, and to encourage people
to get involved! I hope all this is pretty obvious when you watch it.
