Hi David,

Amusingly, that's part of what I do for a day job (designing city-sized 
intelligent transport systems).  A good person for you to talk to would 
be Harry Wood - he's OSM London by night, but works for Placr on 
transport info systems by day and has designed some amusing apps using 
Transport for London data recently (sorry for outing you, Harry :-) ).

I've cc'd Harry in case he's not on this list.  You might also want to 
put the word out on the Open Data boards (also CC'd).
