Hi all,

As many of you know, The Web Foundation has been working hard on starting new OGD projects and it's my great pleasure to announce we will be supporting the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) to spearhead the Ghana Open Data Initiative (GODI).

For more information, please see the blog post [1] and the project page [2] at WF.

This is intended to be a collaborative effort and we have been working with both demand and supply sides from the early days, more than a year ago.

We expect GODI to produce several deliverables that will be openly and freely available for the community to re-use.

I'm also copying Eric Akumiah, the project manager at NITA, to both introduce him to this community and this community to him. I know I can speak in the name of both WF and NITA to say that we are very excited and will work very hard to drive this project to success over the next two years.

We'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, don't hesitate to contact us if you think you should be involved and you haven't heard from us yet, or if you just have a thought to share!

Best,
Josema.
