[open-government] open-government Digest, Vol 25, Issue 30

I'm inspired by the posts by Daniel and others on collaborative authoring
around Open Government, and think this group may be interested:

Grant Vergottini and I are organizing an international (un)-hackathon, to
add metadata to legislation around the world using a simple browser-based
tool. We are targeting May 19 and would like to have local events and
participants in many countries. The plan for each local event is:

1. An Ignite talk on the importance of structured data for open government.
2. Selecting a few pieces of legislation to mark up using a developing
international XML standard for legislation.
3. Marking up the legislation with the goal of having all countries'
constitutions in XML, and perhaps also selected open government laws.

*Please let me or Grant know if you are interested in organizing a local
event. *
Best,
Ari
