[open-government] Global Open Data Initiative moving forward

Which, Consumer Focus and Open Rights Group lobbied for consumers and civil society to be included in the remit of the ODI while it was being defined, but at the time the core work streams were scaling up businesses and helping government improve its internal processes. The scope is widening, which makes a lot of sense.
