[open-government] Open government data at IVIRs Information Influx Conference Amsterdam

Dear all,

Open government data is on the agenda of our international Information Influx conference<http://www.informationinflux.org> (2-4 July) at the University of Amsterdam.

Under the title 'Accountability and the public sector data push' a panel composed of among others professor Deirdre Curtin (University of Amsterdam), Dr. Ben Worthy (Birkbeck UCL), Helen Darbishire (Access Info), Chris Taggart (Open corporates) will share thoughts on:

  *   How current freedom of information legislation in Europe may be reformed to stimulate active dissemination of public sector data
  *   What the potential (and limitations) are of public sector data push for accountability of governments.

There is a wealth of other topical issues on the programme, reflecting the Institute of Information Law<http://www.ivir.nl>'s engagement with the myriad legal challenges facing information societies today. To pick a few: intellectual property reform,  regulation of surveillance, redefining the public mission in media,  data protection & behavorial targeting.

Registration is open! We are looking forward to greeting you in Amsterdam this summer.
