[open-government] Announcement from the U.S. government signals path forward for open data

Hi all,

We are happy to announce that the US is getting one step closer toward
default openness of government data. Earlier this week, we announced that
the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) will be releasing their full
inventory of public and private data holdings

This compliance comes 14 months after Sunlight Foundation's initial freedom
of information request (and ultimately preparing to use all of our legal
rights under the FOIA), we hope that this marks the beginning of continual
release of these full inventories.
