Dear colleagues,

Every two years representatives of government, academia, civil society,
private sector and multilateral organizations meet at the Open Government
Partnership Global Summit to exchange experiences, best practices and
progress on open government initiatives.

This year Mexico will host the OGP Global Summit on October 27-29. This
gathering of more than 1,500 practitioners will be a chance to share
learning and continue working towards securing commitments from governments
to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness
new technologies to ensure governmental decisions are guided by citizen's
needs.

The 2015 OGP Global Summit will focus on sharing the progress and
challenges of the open government agenda, and on how the principles of open
government could support the implementation of Sustainable Development
Goals of the United Nations Post-2015 Agenda. Additionally, the Summit will
explore ways in which open government improves public service provision,
responsiveness and participation mechanisms at the subnational level.

As open government practitioners you are invited to actively participate at
the Mexico 2015 Open Government Partnership Global Summit.

To be eligible to attend please complete the pre-registration form before
September 28 at: tinyurl.com/OGPSummit. We will start confirming
participation as soon as possible.

Do you need travel support to attend the 2015 OGP Global Summit? Only
pre-registrations received before July 28th will be considered for funding.

Estimados colegas,

Cada dos años representantes del gobierno, academia, sociedad civil, sector
privado y organizaciones multilaterales se reúnen durante la Cumbre Global
de la Alianza para el Gobierno Abierto (OGP – Open Government Partnership)
para intercambiar experiencias, mejores prácticas y avances en iniciativas
y proyectos de gobierno abierto.

Este año México será la sede de la Cumbre Global de OGP la cual se
celebrará del 27 al 29 de octubre. Este encuentro, el cual reúne a más de
1,500 representantes de la comunidad de práctica, es una oportunidad para
compartir aprendizajes y trabajar en torno a compromisos gubernamentales
que promuevan la transparencia; empoderen a la ciudadanía; ayuden la lucha
contra la corrupción; y, hagan uso de nuevas tecnologías para asegurar que
las decisiones de los gobiernos estén guiadas por las necesidades de la
ciudadanía.

La Cumbre Global 2015 de la Alianza para el Gobierno Abierto se centrará en
mostrar los avances y retos de la agenda de gobierno abierto a nivel
mundial y en cómo esta agenda puede ser instrumental para la implementación
de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible de la Agenda Post-2015 de las
Naciones Unidas. Además, durante la Cumbre, se abordarán las maneras en las
que el gobierno abierto mejora la prestación de servicios públicos, la
respuesta institucional y los mecanismos de participación a nivel
subnacional.

Como integrante de esta comunidad de práctica le invitamos a participar
activamente en la Cumbre Global de Alianza para el Gobierno Abierto en
México.
