Following on my announcement to the open-government list, and on
Rufus's excellent suggestion:
I'd like to invite you to an international (un)-hackathon on May 19. I
am organizing this event with Grant Vergottini, who built California's
legislation authoring platform, to inspire local events around the
world to add metadata to legislation using a simple browser-based
tool. The plan for each local event is:
1. An Ignite talk on the importance of structured data for open government.
2. Selecting a few pieces of legislation to mark up using a developing
international XML standard for legislation.
3. Marking up the legislation with the goal of having all countries'
constitutions in XML, and perhaps also selected open government laws.
Please let me or Grant know if you are interested in participating or
organizing a local event.
Best,
Ari
