The establishment of national and European research data infrastructures 
for Digital Humanities is an important focus of research at the Division 
of Computational Linguistics at the University of Tübingen (see 
www.clarin-d.net). To support ongoing research projects in the field of 
data modeling and research data management, we are looking for

two Researchers 100% E 13 TV-L initially until 2021, 31st March.

Position 1

Tasks
-    Design and development of processes and tools in the field of 
research data management, language processing tools, search and access 
systems
-    Collaborative research in a team of computational and theoretical 
linguists

Requirements
-    Completed M.Sc./M.A. or a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational 
Linguistics, or a related field, preferably in the philologies, 
linguistics or other fields of the digital humanities
-    Experience with the development and operation of web services
-    Programming experience in an object-oriented language, preferably Java
-    Language skills in English (fluent)

Position 2

Task

-    Development and maintenance fo metadata schemata and metadata 
instances according to ISO 24622-1 and -2 (CMDI)
-    Further development of tools, procedures and processes for research 
driven data management in the humanities
-    Development of concepts and methods to support researchers in the 
humanities in data management

Requirements
-    Completed M.Sc./M.A. or a Ph.D. in the humanities, preferably in 
the philologies, linguistics or other fields of the digital humanities
-    competence in text-technological concepts, especially XML 
(-technologies), JSON, SQL or similar
-    experience in data modeling
-    Language skills: German and English

Additional skills are preferred
-    Experiences with metadata schemas, preferably according to ISO 
24622-1 and -2 (CMDI)
-    Unix
-    programming skills, preferably in Java
